My grandmother died only a few months after my grandfather even16she was in good health and had17been sick in her life. My grandfather was a strong independent man who worshipped my grandmother and took especially good care of her. He never18her to work or to want19anything and remained deeply in love20her, often publicly21his affection, until he died. 

He was an22family doctor who made house calls and regarded his patients as his family. My grandmother's23identity revolved around being “ doctor’s wife Her life was his life，and in hindsight I24she never developed any interests of her own. In fact, she seemed to have no interests25from his interests. As “doctor’s wife”，she took care of him, the family and the house. When the children became independent, she became even more attentive to him and didn’t26any other interests to replace the missing children. 

With the27of grandchildren, she became the happy mother all28, caring for the grandchildren as often as she could.When grandfather died, we all tried to visit her often and invited her to visit our families. She told us to give her a little time to29and said that for the present she preferred to30home. About three months later, I found her lying in grandfather’s bed having passed away from an apparent heart attack. In retrospect I think that she had died in spirit when grandfather passed away, and when I think about it, I had no grandmother. My grandmother was “doctor’s wife”, when he died, her identity died and soon thereafter her body.
